Heart Break On Valentines Day… Its Not What You Think!

I gotta say I don’t like this growing up thing but at the same time its exciting to begin to see how all of my hard work could begin to pay off or at lease put me back into debt.  With no Valentine’s day obligations I decided to embark on something very new me, house hunting.  After spending the better part of the day browsing different websites I cobbled together a list of seven houses to look at.  Now I didn’t talk to a realtor I was just going to drive by to see what I could see and check the neighborhoods out.

After the first three I was starting to think I had wasted a day and realized that the pictures the realtors post really don’t show much of anything.  The next couple had some potential but didn’t leave me with any desire to go back and take a second look.  With the sun setting and from the Google satellite images I had seen earlier I had little hope for my last stop but it was on the way home so I figured I would give it a chance.  As I got closer I passed a favorite bar of mine and I was getting closer to West Annapolis were many of my friends live. Things were looking up.  When I got there I see this little bungalow that has clearly seen better days and definitely showed its 60 years of age.  It was PERFECT, with a great back yard and separate structure that would make a great office.  With a little tlc this was it I had to have it, that night I talked it over with my dad and he agreed it would be the perfect fit for me so we made plans to take a look at it the next day.

This morning I went to see what other information I could glean from the web, to my surprise the listing was gone I figured it had been on the market for almost two years and maybe the company just pulled the ad.   It didn’t slow me down we went to the house and my dad pointed a few things out that I hadn’t noticed the day before, feeling even better about it I call the realtor to try and arrange a viewing. No answer just a machine, No biggie its a Sunday on a three day weekend they were all probably out showing houses.  Right?

With even more questions about the property I hit the web again to see what I could find and then it hit me the house was under contract.  Someone, another smart investor seeing the potential of this little house had beat me to it. I know everything happens for a reason but come on. From jokingly looking for houses, to finding the this little gem that I could afford near the heart of the town I love, to finding out that I missed the chance of making it mine by hours what a weekend.   All I can do now is sit back and hope that this person biffs something and voids the contract.  This won’t drag me down the search must go on… Stay tuned & Happy Valentines Day!
